DeWine Calls on BWC to Distribute $1.6 Billion in Dividends to Employers

Gov. Mike DeWine said Wednesday he has asked the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation to send $1.6 billion in dividends to thousands of employers in the state to ease the impact of the coronavirus crisis.

If approved by the BWC board, $1.4 billion would go to private employers, and the other $200 million or so would be sent to local governments, the governor said during his daily briefing at the Ohio Statehouse.
